Our Promise

Fully Stocked Pharmacies

In keeping with our founding directive of providing quality, accessible, & affordable healthcare to all, we are in the process of opening fully staffed and stocked pharmacies in every village and major city in Africa.

All the pharmacies we currently operate sell at 60% below retail market value as to ensure that medicine and supplies are available to all, particularly the least fortunate community members.

Our medications are imported from North America, Europe, and Asia to ensure authentic and consistent quality of product. We only purchase medication that has been inspected and approved by local authorities.

Safe Child Delivery & Maternity Care

When a delivery is performed outside of a medical facility there is a high probability of death for the mother or the child. Until recently, many people have had no choice. WeCare makes risky home deliveries a thing of the past.

At every clinic we have the most educated and certified nurse practitioners attending to mothers as they bring their child into the world. Additionally, our surgical response teams are on standby during each childbirth to ensure that any complications can be operated on immediately.

Post childbirth, we care for mothers and newborns for about a week. We make sure newborns receive adequate medical attention and proper immunizations to strengthen their immune systems against harmful agents in the environment.

State of the Art Regional Hubs & Medical Transport Services

At the heart of our effort to democratize care lies an innovative artificial intelligence technology – to help augment our medical staff and to catch things that may escape human attention. With AI powered facilities, we will be able to automatically identify and recommend treatment options to patients based on a number of factors including; history, symptoms, genetic data, health habits, sexual habits, and societal trends.

This technology will also be able to efficiently map the course of major epidemics such as Ebola. With quick identification we can help impede and eventually contain outbreaks before they grow to catastrophic levels.

Complementing our AI technology will be robotics of two classes. The first class will be autonomous delivery drones to help deliver care packages to remote locations. Additionally, they will be used for on-demand delivery of medicine and products from our stores to customers in the major cities we serve. The second class of the robotics technology will be focused on therapeutic uses to help staff better care for our valued patients.

Furthermore, we plan to roll out regional hubs/hospitals that are much bigger than the clinics we currently operate. These hubs will focus on specialized and critical care of all patients. The wealthy in Africa currently travel to Europe and America when they have a medical condition, and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in those economies. As a self-sustaining social impact enterprise, serving these clients this will enable us to generate revenue to fund our other community initiatives for the masses.

At our regional hubs, we’ll be employing oversees world-class physicians and nurses to provide superior care to our clientele. We plan to bring Nordic health care to Africa and remove the need for medical tourists to travel abroad. These will be the preeminent medical facilities in Africa.

Lastly, we intend to roll out health insurance services throughout the continent to ensure that care remains sustainable and accessible to everyone.

Health Education & Counseling

Many health problems we have are a result of a lack of adequate understanding of the mechanics of the human body, subsequent inaction, and/or ineffective treatment. When these problems accumulate, they compound into greater health issues that are more difficult and costly to treat. This is why we offer health education and counseling as part of the services we provide our clients. Educating our clients and fostering a proactive mindset towards health is the key to keeping them healthy and happy.

With our health education and counseling services, we put preventative care at the forefront of our wellness campaign. In these sessions with local nurse practitioners clients learn about STIs, contraceptives, family planning, proper diet, exercise, and understanding their medical history to ensure the best quality care for their conditions.

History

As a boy, Ossai XCI (founder of WeCare) witnessed a simple food allergy take the life of his aunt Philo. She had to be transported over 450 miles to the nearest clinic. Because of the extensive length of the journey, she died on the way. Despite this tragedy, Ossai and his family continued the two day trip from southern Nigeria to the town of Jos in an effort to stock up on medicine. As it turns out, the clinic did not have the medicine Philo would have needed.

“That is basically life for us. People dying every day because of the most minor, treatable, preventable illnesses. Back home, childbirth is like a death sentence; you have less than a 50/50 chance of making it out  with your life and your child’s life. Either the mother dies, or the child does – mostly due to infections or minor complications. A basic clinic could handle these things without fuss.”

This unfortunate event and many like it inspired Ossai to open a charitable clinic in his hometown. The demand was so high that he quickly realized this was something that needed to be expanded to neighboring villages. From there the mission was born to provide superior medical care to as many under-served areas as possible – to reduce and eventually eliminate these unnecessarily tragic deaths.

WeCare now serves hundreds of people per day, ranging from small needs such as headache medicine, to serious treatment for injuries such broken bones. We’ve also discovered a particular need for maternal care, and to date, WeCare has delivered over 150 babies in its clinics without a single loss of mother or child. The families are ever so grateful. Our business name, “Excellence Medical” is derived from the first child born in our facility – a beautiful baby girl, with a smile that’s destined for great things. Were it not for WeCare, she would have been just another infant mortality statistic – our work gave her a chance at life.
